Huawei CFO extradition hearing set for January 2020

The defence team for Huawei's CFO Meng Wanzhou will challenge her extradition to the US on 20 January 2020, over a year after she was taken into custody, reports CBC. Meng's legal team proposed that the extradition hearing wrap up in October 2020, around 22 months after her arrest, which would be a "record" for such a complicated hearing, according to defence lawyer David Martin. The defence's timeline includes a two-track process in that Meng's extradition hearing will proceed at the same time as a separate bid for a stay of proceedings on the grounds that she is facing extradition to the US
