Huawei files French lawsuit for defamation over China state ties

Huawei has confirmed that it brought a lawsuit for defamation in a French court over a number of comments made about the company by individuals interviewed on TV programmes earlier this year. In a statement seen by AFP, Huawei said that it is contesting what was said by these individuals, who wrongly claimed that the company was controlled by the Chinese state and by the Chinese communist party.
