Huawei's Honor brand has unveiled its new flagship smartphone, the Honor 10, at an event in London. First previewed in China last month, the new phone is now launching for GBP 399.99 in major European markets.
The main features of the phone include advanced AI features in the dual rear cameras and a 3D glass back with optical coating for shimmering colour effects, similar to Huawei's own P20 smartphone.
The Honor 10 comes with 24MP and 16MP cameras on the back, with 'AI 2.0' features supported by the NPU processor in Huawei's Kirin 970 chipset. This means the phone can recognize over 500 photo scenarios in 22 categories in real-time, pinpointing the outlines of various surrounding objects, like the sky, plants or people, and identifying their locations in order to optimise the scene and offer a range of editing options. The 24MP front camera also supports 3D face recognition, optimizes facial details and detects over a hundred facial points to pixel-level accuracy.
The Honor 10 also comes with what the company says is the industry's first front-placing ultrasonic fingerprint sensor under the glass, below the 5.84-inch FullView FHD+ screen which comes with a 19:9 bezel-less display and 86 percent screen-to-body ratio.
Other specs include 4GB RAM, a choice of 64GB or 128GB ROM, Honor Super Charge with the 3,400 mAh battery, and Huawei's latest EMUI 8.1 with the Easy Talk function to reduce background noise during calls.
