Huawei partner tried to sell HP equipment to Iran

Mobile Telecommunication of Iran (MCI) was offered at least EUR 1.3 million of embargoed HP computer equipment in 2010 as part of a EUR 20 million contract bid by Skycom Tech, a major Iranian partner of China's Huawei Technologies. The news comes amidst recent statements in the US Congress that Huawei has failed to support its claim that it complies with US export laws and sanctions. Huawei confirmed to Reuters that Skycom Tech had submitted a bid but said they never supplied the HP equipment. HP told Reuters that it has an extensive system in place to prevent its resellers from breaking US
