Huawei planning to open second Mexican data centre

Huawei is planning to set up a second data centre in Mexico as well as more cloud regions throughout Latin America, reports website BN Americas, citing Huawei Cloud strategic and marketing director Alfonso Jimenez. Earlier this year, the company inaugurated new facilities in Santiago (Chile) and Sao Paulo (Brazil), and the new Mexican site will mean Huawei’s three Latin America cloud regions –  Brazil, Mexico and Chile – will have two facilities each.

According to Jimenez, in the coming months Huawei intends to announce new regions, availability zones and content-delivery networks covering the whole region, including CDNs in Paraguay and Uruguay later this year, followed by Bolivia, Barbados, Suriname, Belize, Bahamas, Guyana, Jamaica and Nicaragua next year.
