Huawei to provide cloud services in Russia

Huawei has rented racks in three Moscow data centres owned by hosting service providers 3Data, IXcellerate and DataPro, reports Kommersant, citing sources in the IT market. The company plans in this way to launch the Huawei Cloud platform in Russia. Huawei expexts to enter the top-3 list of largest Russian cloud service providers within the coming three years.  

Huawei rented 80 racks in March 2018, for a total number of 500. The company plans to rent additional racks in St Petersburg and Yekaterinburg.  

The contract of Huawei with IXcelerate will run several years. The 500 racks will be used by Huawei by the end of this year. The number of racks rented by Huawei could reach 1,000 racks at 3Data data centres soon.
