Hungary starts multiband spectrum auction

Hungary's National Media and Infocommunications Authority (NMHH) has announced a tender for mobile frequencies, setting a 16 June deadline for applications to participate. The currently unused frequency bands 800 MHz and 2600 MHz are being offered, as well as parts of the 900 MHz, 1800 MHz and 26 GHz frequency bands. This new tender is intended to encourage competition and to accelerate the deployment of broadband networks. The winning bidders will have the right to use the frequencies until 2034. The minimum price for each licence is HUF 104 billion.
