Hurricane Electric expands internet transit in Northeast with new PoP at Maine Fiber Company

Hurricane Electric established a new point of presence (PoP) at the Maine Fiber Company (MFC). Located at 9 Westland Avenue, Portland, ME, 04101, this is Hurricane Electric's first PoP in the state. A dark-fibre leasing company that supports all telecom carriers in Maine, the MFC was formed to oversee the construction, maintenance and leasing of a 1,100 mile, high-capacity fibre optic network throughout the state. The network comprises three "rings" of fibre strung through Western, Northern and Downeast Maine, with diverse routes from the Canadian border to Southern New Hampshire. Additional
