Hutch Telecommunications Lanka to invest USD 200 mln after merger with Etisalat

Hutch Telecommunications Lanka plans to invest around USD 200 million over the next five years following its recent merger with Etisalat Lanka. The planned investment will mainly be used for the rollout of a nationwide 4G network and support the growth of data and broadband in Sri Lanka, Daily Mirror reports, citing Hutch Lanka CEO Thirukumar Nadarasa. "In the next 12 months we will be building up a network comparable to both Dialog and Mobitel", the CEO said.
