Hutchison CFO says mobile consolidation more likely

3 Austria is in negotiations to take over Orange Austria, Der Standard. While the companies declined to discuss the subject, the takeover is "one of the worst kept secrets in the mobile sector", according to the paper. While 3 announced plans to invest in its LTE expansion, suggesting it plans to stay in Austria, its bigger rival Orange Austria (currently 65 percent owned by the private investment firm Mid Europa Partners and 35 percent by Orange) does not plan to invest in the expensive technology and says Austria will not be a priority.
