IAB calls on Dutch Parliament to reject cookie amendment

The Interactive Advertising Bureau (IAB)of Europe and the Netherlands are both calling on Dutch Parliament to support the government's proposal for the use of storing technology, including cookies, and to reject proposals brought forth by the Dutch opposition. The IAB explained that the amendment proposed by the Independent Party D66 would request 'explicit consent' for storing such technologies, possibly requiring users to actively confirm each time a cookie is placed on their computer.
