IBM factory workers quit ahead of transfer to Lenovo

As part of its acquisition of IBM's server business, Lenovo will take possession of a half-empty factory in China. Over half of the workers at the factory have decided to take severance payments after IBM fired around twenty employees who had objected to the terms of the transfer to Lenovo, the Financial Times writes. Recently, over 1,000 workers from the Shenzhen factory went on strike over the transfer. IBM had assured the workers they could continue to work under their current terms after Lenovo took over or accept a severance package. However, the workers demanded to be paid more and
