ICANN Africa Strategy Working Group presents regional plan

The ZA Central Registry (ZACR), the African Union-endorsed bidder for the proposed .africa domain name extension, has welcomed the commitment of the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) to African internet development. The Africa Strategy Working Group (ASWG) presented a strategic plan for the region to ICANN's meeting in Toronto from 14-19 October. The ASWG was formed after ICANN's new CEO Fadi Chehade encouraged a stronger voice from the African continent.
