Icann on track to take over from US govt by end-Sept

The US National Telecommunications and Information Administration has confirmed that Icann is on track to take over management of the global domains system from September. In its latest update on the process to handover to Icann, the NTIA said the proposal is "fully implementable" by 30 September, when NTIA's current contract with Icann expires. The NTIA received the stewardship transition proposal on 10 March and has set a target of 90 days to complete its review. Since then, the Cross-Community Working Group on Enhancing ICANN Accountability and IANA Stewardship Transition Coordination
