Ice Norway acquires Komplett Mobil customers for NOK 105 mln

Ice Communication Norge has entered an agreement to acquire the customer base of Norwegian e-commerce company Komplett’s MVNO, Komplett Mobil, for approximately NOK 105 million. On 15 March, Komplett Mobil had 74,740 active subscribers. Komplett Mobil customers will receive an introductory gift of twice as much data and no monthly fee in the first month after their subscription has been transferred to Ice.

Ice Group CEO Eivind Helgaker said that both companies have built up their customer bases through favourable pricing and products and that they are "quite simply a good match".

The amount that Ice pays for the customers could rise or fall, depending on how many Komplett Mobil customers that remain with Ice following the migration, which is expected between April and June.

Komplett Mobil customers do not need to take any action before they receive more information from Ice. Their Ice subscription will be "almost identical" to their current one. Komplett Mobil customers will, however, immediately benefit from the fact that Ice does not automatically charge for excess data use. The will also get twice as much data and pay no monthly fee in the first month after their transfer to Ice. They will also receive a code for use at Komplett.no, granting a 50 percent discount on all Iiglo mobile phone accessories until the end of June 2019.

Ice recently sold its Swedish mobile operation, Net1, to Teracom as part of its focus on Norway, after spinning off its joint ventures in Indonesia and the Philippines and selling it 30 percent stake in Brazil’s Nextel last year. In January, Ice said it was targeting a mobile market share of more than 20 percent in the medium term and more than 25 percent in the long term.
