Icelandic UFP upholds withdrawal of Yellowmobile frequency permit

Friday 3 April 2020 | 14:45 CET | News
The Icelandic Post and Telecom Administration (PTA) said the Appellate Committee for Telecommunications and Postal Affairs (UFP) has confirmed PTA's 23 August 2019 decision to revoke Yellowmobile BV's 2600 MHz frequency use permit. It had withdrawn the permit granted on 07 July 2017 because Yellowmobile had failed to start providing a service within a year. Yellowmobile had switched on one solitary transmitter on Sudurlaundsbraut in collaboration with Siminn on 12 June 2019 following an extension but the UPF has declared that his cannot be considered an active or accessible service.
