ICO advises on wearable technology privacy issues

The UK Information Commissioners Office (ICO) has waded into the debate about the privacy implications of wearable technology following the launch of Google Glass in the UK. In a blog posting, the ICO said that these devices needed to operate in line with the requirements of the UK Data Protection Act. People using wearable technology for their own use are unlikely to be breaching the Act, which includes an exemption for the collection of personal information for domestic purposes.
