ICO takes action for failing to pay data protection fees

The UK's Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) has launched formal enforcement action against 34 organisations for failing to pay the new data protection fee. This money helps fund the ICO's data protection work. The data protection fee is set by the Government and came into force on 25 May to coincide with the new Data Protection Act and General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
