Imec wins subsidy for Flemish smart cities project

The Flemish government has launched the 'Smart Flanders' programme to support 13 cities and the Flemish Community in Brussels (VGC) with the development of smart city services. The research institute Imec announced that it has received a subsidy of EUR 1 million under the programme running until 2019, to support the development work. Imec will focus on helping the cities develop standardised open data that can be used by multiple parties to develop smart cities. In a second phase, they will select certain data sets for targets areas to start 1-2 pilot projects each year, and the third phase
