Inatel to design neutral 5G network for Brazilian ISPs

Brazilian institute Inatel will be responsible for designing the 5G network of the consortium being set up by ISPs, if it wins any of the frequency blocks to be auctioned this year. Speaking to Mobile Time, Rudinei Carlos Gerhart, executive director of the 5G Brazil Initiative, said that the new company will be a large, neutral network operator and that all ISPs in Brazil can operate locally under their own brands. So far, 250 ISPs have joined the project, called "Iniciativa 5G Brasil". It has not yet been decided, however, whether the consortium will try to buy a national block or regional
