India loses 1 mln telephone subscribers in July

India ended July with 1.058 billion telephone subscribers, down by 1 million from June. The total comprises 1.034 billion wireless subscribers, down by 880,000 in the month, and 24.62 million fixed-line subscribers, down by 130,000 in the month. In July, 4.91 million subscribers submitted requests for mobile number portability, according to figures from the Telecom Regularity Authority of India (Trai).
