India smartphone market grows 12% year-on-year in Q1

India's smartphone market increased by 12 percent year-on-year, with 24.4 million units shipped in the first quarter of this year. The top five vendors are Samsung, followed by Micromax, Intex, Lenovo and Lava, according to Canalys. Lenovo saw the most significant growth, with shipments up 63 percent from the first quarter of 2015.
