India tablet market jumps 46% to over 1 mln units in Q3

Nearly 1.1 million tablets were shipped in India in this year's third quarter, which represents an increase of 46 percent from the previous quarter and a 3 percent growth year-on-year, according to a report from IDC. The report further shows that the recently launched Tablet Scheme by the Gujarat government, namely NAMO Tablet Scheme for the college students, was the key driver for the growth within education and government verticals which contributed to the overall commercial growth in the third quarter of 2017.
