India's telephone customer base recovers in April

India's telephone subscriber base recovered in April by adding 260,000 telephone subscribers, after a loss of 21.89 million telephone customers in March. The country ended the month with 1.162 billion mobile lines, slightly up 0.04 percent from a month earlier. Including the decline of 0.22 million in the number of wireline subscribers to 21.47 million, the overall teledensity in India reached 90.05 percent in April, down from 90.11 percent in March.
