Indonesian operators seek to withdraw from CDMA market

Several mobile operators in Indonesia are considering terminating CDMA services to focus on their other products. Telekomunikasi Indonesia (Telkom) provides CDMA services under the TelkomFlexi brand and has around 18 million subscribers. However, Telkom finance director Honesti Basyir said the CDMA ecosystem was "moribund" and that the ARPU from CDMA services was far lower than from GSM services, the Jakarta Post reports. Telkom plans to gradually terminate the CDMA business over two or three years. The company will stop services in areas with low ARPU first and eventually plans to divest
