ING customers make 7 mln contactless payments in Q1

The number of contactless payments by customers of Dutch bank ING rose to 7 million in the first quarter of this year. The bank offers NFC with its payment cards since April 2014 and since then has seen over 12 million NFC transactions. Around 6.5 million customers have the NFC cards. In the past year, the number of retail outlets accepting NFC payments also increased, from 30,000 to 65,000, ING said. The payment method saves time especially for small transactions under EUR 25, for which no PIN code is required. The average amount spent with the ING contactless cards is EUR 5.76, and the
