ING says no plans for iOS, Windows payment apps

Wednesday 16 March 2016 | 11:17 CET | News
Dutch bank ING said it currently has no plans to launch a version of its mobile payments app for Apple's iOS or Windows. The app was first launched last year for customers with Android devices supporting NFC. It has since been downloaded around 60,000 times, and around 20,000 transactions are conducted each week, the bank told Telecompaper. ING estimates around 750,000 customers have devices that can support the app. A spokeswoman for ING said it was up to Apple to make the mobile payments possible in the Netherlands, while Windows currently does not support mobile payments.
