ING starts m-payments with QR codes

Thursday 7 April 2016 | 10:49 CET | News
Dutch bank ING has added payments via QR code to its mobile banking app. Customers can make a payment request in the app, and the app generates a QR code. The paying party then scans the code with the app on their smartphone and confirms the payment with their PIN. In addition to P2P payments, the QR codes can also support business transactions, ING said, such as allowing customers to pay on the spot outside traditional shop environments. ING also offers contactless payments and payments through voice and fingerprint recognition.
