ING starts test of NFC mobile payments

Dutch bank ING has started rolling out support for mobile payments on Android phones. The company sent a mail to 5,000 account holders with an invite to join the beta test; the required Android app is not yet available on Google Play. ING plans to gather feedback from users in the trial before the service goes live. ING has developed a new app, separate from its existing mobile banking app. It will be offered free the first six months and then cost EUR 0.50 per month for an unlimited number of transactions. The service uses host card emulation to put a virtual payment card on the mobile
