ING targets m-payments service launch by year-end

ING aims to launch a commercial mobile payments service for Android smartphones before the end of the year, De Telegraaf reports. ING has built a NFC service based on HCE, which is available on all Android phones running versus 4.4 of the OS or higher. It started an open beta test of the service in early September in order to build up experience with different Android models. The test started with 5,000 users, and the total has since increased. ING is offering the payments service free for the first six months, after which it will cost EUR 0.50 per month. The Dutch bank also plans to work
