An inquiry by France's competition authority has reportedly found that Numericable and SFR did not comply with regulations in the period preceding the takeover of SFR by Altice via its subsidiary Numericable, writes Les Echos quoting unnamed sources. The companies involved could face a hefty fine if found guilty, theoretically up to EUR 500 million. Based on the unconfirmed report, the inquiry into the takeover found evidence that in 2014, Numericable and SFR started cooperating on commercial activities before the deal received the regulatory green light.
