Intel announces 20 design wins for Windows 8 Atom SoC

Intel announced that it already has 20 contracts from tablet makers for its new Atom processor for Windows 8 devices. Unveiled earlier this year, the 32nm SoC is expected to start shipping in products in Q3. Also at the Computex show in Taiwan, Intel highlighted the growing number of ultrabooks running its core processors. More than 35 of the new lightweight, high-power computers are on the market or will launch in the next 30 days, and Intel expects over 110 designs in the next year.
