Intel intros new processors for ultra-light mobile computers

Intel announced a new range of processors designed for thin, light laptops and 2-in-1 tablets to offer long battery life, enhanced mobile data options and support for voice controls. The additions to the 8th Gen Intel Core processor family are the U-series (formerly code-named Whiskey Lake) and Y-series (formerly code-named Amber Lake). The first computers running the new chips should be available this autumn, with Acer already announcing new laptops at the IFA trade show in Berlin.
