Intel, others form Open Interconnection Consortium for IoT

Atmel, Broadcom, Dell, Intel, Samsung and Wind River have formed an industry to accelerate the adoption of the Internet of Things (IoT). The Open Interconnection Consortium (OIC) will define connectivity requirements and ensure the interoperability among personal computing and emerging IoT devices. The OIC intends to deliver a specification, an open source implementation and a certification programme. Member companies will contribute software and engineering resources to the consortium.
