Intel supplies processors to Bouygues, Free next-gen boxes

Two different Intel processors have been selected by French ISPs Bouygues Telecom and Free for their next generation home gateways. Bouygues Telecom chose the Intel Atom CE4200, code named Groveland, a system-on-chip designed for consumer electronics devices, including gateway and set top boxes for cable and service providers. The operator's CEO, Olivier Roussat, said that its new collaboration with Intel allowed the company to start working on its next generation of Bbox product line in November 2010. Meanwhile, Iliad subsidiary Free selected the Intel Atom CE4100 for its Freebox Revolution
