Intel targets hyperscale market with new IPU range

Intel has announced a new type of chip called the infrastructure processing unit (IPU). Designed for large-scale data centres, it's expected to help cloud and communication service providers achieve a better balance between processing and storage, freeing up resources to improve CPU performance.
