Internet companies call on FCC to maintain net neutrality

Many of the world's major internet companies, including Google, Facebook, Microsoft, Netflix and Twitter have written to the FCC to argue against the proposal of rules that would enable ISPs to discriminate against internet companies by imposing tolls and discriminating technically and financially against internet companies. The move comes ahead of a scheduled FCC vote on 15 May to consider the proposal developed by chairman Tom Wheeler. The companies argue that the FCC's rules should protect users and internet companies on fixed and mobile platforms against blocking, discrimination and paid
