Internet Society launches French IoT work group to strengthen consumer data protection

The French members of the Internet Society have launched the IoT Security Working Group, an initiative aimed at strengthening consumer protection against the risks to data security and privacy linked to the use of IoT-connected devices. Several stakeholders have already agreed to be part of the work group, including French telecom regulator Arcep, the country's domain name registry association AFNIC and national IT security agency ANSSI. Nokia and privacy advocacy group La Quadrature du Net are also participating, alongside the Ile-de-France business cluster Systematic Paris-Region.
