Inwit to convert Milan metro into Europe's first '5G-ready' underground network

Italian mobile towers group Inwit, jointly controlled by Telecom Italia (TIM) and Vodafone, has reached an agreement with M4 SpA, concessionaire of the new Line 4 of Milan's metro network, to connect the Linate to Forlanini section of the underground. Inwit said its DAS (Distributed Antenna System) will optimise mobile signal reception for the various operators along the M4's tunnels and stations, ensuring reliable mobile service for the estimated 86 million passengers per year expected to travel to and from Linate airport.
