Iran's TIC says unused fibre infrastructure to be leased

The Telecommunications Infrastructure Company of Iran (TIC) has announced that the unused sections of the national optical cable network, or dark fibre, will be privatised, ICTNA reported. Majid Mirzaei, financial director of TIC, said the scheme enables private internet providers to provide communications services through a privately operated optical fibre network that will be run directly by its operator using dark fibre leased from TIC, rather than by purchasing bandwidth or leased line capacity.
