Irish broadband plan could be delayed further

Ireland's National Broadband Plan could face further delays after the new administration transferred responsibility for its delivery to a different department, reports the Irish Times. Responsibility for the national broadband strategy has been moved from the Department of Communications and handed to the new Department of Regional Development, Rural Affairs, Arts and the Gaeltacht. A Government spokesperson told the paper that delivery of the plan remained a 'priority'. The Government recently confirmed that it would not be in a position to commence negotiations with short listed bidders as
