Irish govt close to deal to collect Apple back tax - report

The Irish government is close to an agreement with Apple on collecting the back tax claimed by the EU from the company and placing it in an escrow fund until the court appeals are resolved. According to a report from the Irish Times, the government is expected to issue a tender in the coming weeks for a fund manager and custodian for the fund. It needs to make sure the billions placed by Apple in escrow do not lose value amid expectations the court appeal will take 4-6 years to complete.
