Irish ISPs to block websites showing child abuse material

Wednesday 12 February 2020 | 10:21 CET | News
A number of Irish providers have agreed to block almost 2,000 portals disseminating child abuse material. BT Ireland, Eir, Sky Ireland, Tesco Mobile, 3 Ireland and Vodafone Ireland signed a memorandum of understanding on the matter with An Garda Siochanam, the police service for Ireland. When a person visits one of 1,857 sites on Interpol's 'worst of' list, they will be redirected to a Garda page informing them that they are trying to view illegal material.
