Israeli firms, universities form Network Programming group

Ten Israeli companies and ten Israeli universities and research institutions have formed the Neptune (Network Programming) consortium to develop efficient methods to automate and manage service provider networks, irrespective of their underlying network technologies. The ability to program and automate networks will increase the efficiency and flexibility of service provider networks, thereby simplifying deployment and operation, and reducing associated costs. Neptune is backed by support from the Magnet Programme of the Ministry of Economy's Office of the Chief Scientist. Founding members
