Italian antitrust watchdog to probe Google 'smart device' dominance

Italian antitrust watchdog AGCM has announced the opening of an investigation into Google's alleged abuse of its dominant position in what it describes as the smart device market. In a statement the authority claimed that Google has refused to integrate the "Enel X Recharge" app, developed by Italian utility giant Enel to inform users about electric car battery charging points, in its Android Auto app. "The exclusion of Enel X Recharge from Android Auto reduces the usability of this app by users and limits their ability to use the app's utilities, including the booking of charging stations,"
