Italian broadband tender to guarantee 100Mbps speeds

Friday 21 April 2017 | 08:58 CET | News
Italy's state-owned infrastructure agency Infratel has officially confirmed that phase 1 of the tenders to build and operate an Italian national high-speed broadband network in six digital divide areas will guarantee speeds of at least 100Mbps in 4 million households, compared to just 1.5 million initially cited. Only 30,000 homes, barely 0.66 percent of the total, will have to make do with speeds of 30 Mbps, according to the details of the technical offer released by Infratel and seen by Corriere delle Comunicazioni.
