The minister for economic development, Carlo Calenda met delegations from Ericsson and its unions to discuss the plans. He said he was concerned about the impact on employment and urged the parties to look for solutions to avoid redundancies, identify new job opportunities for the affected workers and, if necessary, take advantage of the available social safety nets.
