Italian police block 124 football streaming sites

Italy's financial police force has carried out what is believed to be the country's largest ever crackdown on illegal streaming websites, reports Gazzetta dello Sport. Acting under instruction from Rome's public prosecutor the police followed up a complaint from pay-TV operator Sky Italia and proceeded to block 124 websites broadcasting live streams of football matches and other sporting events. The sites, all located on non-Italian servers, offered live streaming and on-demand content, complete with full schedules of upcoming matches. Their main sources of income are the advertising banners
