Italian supreme court approves adding TV licence to bills

Italy's Council of State, the country's highest administrative court, has finally approved the move to add the TV licence to household electricity and gas bills. The court had previously raised objections to the corresponding government decree, saying it lacked definition of what is meant by "TV set" in view of the range of devices now available on the market. However, Ansa reports that the court has now received various assurances from the government, including the fact that owners of tablets and smartphones won't be subject to the fee and that electricity companies levying the fee will be
