Italian watchdog tells Vivendi to reveal TIM control - report

French media giant Vivendi will be required to confirm on 07 August whether or not it effectively controls Telecom Italia (TIM), reports business daily Il Sole 24 Ore. The declaration follows a request from Italian markets watchdog Consob to its French counterpart AMF, with Vivendi asked to make public its response to its national stock market regulator, said the report, adding that confirmation would result in Vivendi having to consolidate TIM's debt into its accounts. It would also open the way for the Italian government's intervention in view of TIM's position as a strategic national
